Following the breakup of her group Fifth Harmony, Normani released a string of songs for years before revealing her upcoming solo album, "Dopamine," along with a sneak peek at a brand-new song.

Yesterday, the singer deleted her social media accounts, which is a common move by artists to announce the start of a new chapter in their lives.

Fans noticed this. She shared the cover of "Dopamine" on Instagram today, showing herself atop a jet-black rocket set against a white background.

"I'm crying as I type this. Go listen to the album," she captioned the photo. There was no stated date of release.

Following the news of "Dopamine," Normani shared a teaser of a new song on her TikTok account that might be on the upcoming album.

For Normani, who first gained notoriety as a founding member of Fifth Harmony, it has taken a while.

The quintet was formed in 2012 and put out two albums until Camila Cabello, a fellow member of the 5H group, left in December 2016.

Normani stayed on and added to the third and last album of the newly formed quartet, which was named for itself and came out in 2017.

The next year, Fifth Harmony disbanded, choosing to concentrate on their solo careers and put the group on hold.

In the years that followed, Normani's career as a solo artist has continuously seen various ups and downs.

She signed with Keep Cool/RCA Records as the first artist, and soon after, a solo album was anticipated. Instead, Normani released a few singles here and there, such as the popular songs "Dancing With a Stranger" and "Love Lies" with Khalid and Sam Smith. Her solo song "Motivation" cracked the top 40, while her Cardi B duet "Wild Side" peaked at No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100, indicating her moderate chart success.
